AMPdoc is the first portable distribution of an AMP web server designed for information and documentation professionals, with the goal of making any automation project in libraries, archives, museums, and information units feasible. Since its launch on February 28, 2014, to the present day, more than 800 downloads have been recorded from SourceForge and over 1,700 in total across various repositories.

Convenient access to applications
AMPdoc 2.0 introduces a shortcuts section on the homepage to facilitate access to all programs installed in the distribution. Users no longer need to expand any menu to click on the required application; they can directly select the program from the first page.
Integrated search engine
Frequently, it is necessary to perform web searches, which involve opening new tabs, switching windows, or using other browsers—sometimes resulting in the closure of AMPdoc’s active window. In this version, the search provider WauSearch has been integrated into a prominent space on the homepage, allowing users to launch as many queries as needed without losing sight of AMPdoc’s execution context.
New options menu
The redesign of AMPdoc and its new features entail a revised method of organizing information compared to previous versions. The main menu of the distribution is located at the bottom of the browser window. It provides access to informational tables regarding the various document applications installed in AMPdoc, configurable aspects of the distribution, information about the author, recipients, license, contact options, and redistribution through social networks.
Immediate access to work applications
A suggestion shared by many AMPdoc users was the possibility of incorporating a quick-execution method for applications most frequently used in daily work. AMPdoc has addressed this request by implementing an auto-launch application system. From the homepage configuration section, users can select three preferred startup programs from all those available in the distribution. Thus, when AMPdoc is launched, it directly opens the designated applications, minimizing the time required to locate them on the distribution’s home screen.
Disable, enable, and uninstall
AMPdoc 2.0 incorporates a system for managing installations. This allows users to uninstall any applications they do not need or intend to use, thereby reducing AMPdoc’s disk footprint. Uninstalling an application results in its complete deletion, including its MySQL database, and it cannot be recovered afterward. If recovery is desired at a later time, the disable option should be used instead. This enables any application to be reactivated whenever needed.
ICA-AtoM operational
One of the main issues with the previous version was the execution flaw in ICA-AtoM, a program designed for archival automation. The complexity of its configuration and installation had prevented a simple solution until now. ICA-AtoM is now operating stably after resolving several issues in its source code—issues entirely unrelated to AMPdoc. Specifically, ICA-AtoM experienced problems during the loading of the Symfony libraries and the Qubit module, due to incorrect absolute paths being set in the application’s cache access points. With AMPdoc 2.0, it is now possible to extract the distribution, execute it, and run ICA-AtoM directly without modifying any parameters. Should the AMPdoc folder change location on the computer or USB drive, it will suffice to delete the cache folder at the path «AMPdoc\htdocs\icaatom\cache»; this forces ICA-AtoM to correctly reconstruct all paths to adapt to AMPdoc’s new location.
Newly installed applications
In addition to the applications available in version 1.0, a significant update and enhancement process has been carried out on the software suite. In many cases, applications have been upgraded to more recent versions whenever possible, and new ones have been incorporated. These include TemaTres, Concrete, BEdita, B2Evolution, MediaWiki, Serposcope, and Selfoss.
What can be done with the new AMPdoc
With AMPdoc 1.0, it was possible to automate a library, archive, museum, or documentation center, as well as design their information portals, generate collaborative processes and workflows, blogs, content aggregation, and web positioning. With AMPdoc 2.0, a further step is taken in creating an ecosystem of documentary technologies and applications. It is now possible to create vocabularies and documentary languages using the TemaTres application, manage semantic websites with BEdita, utilize the primary CMS software from MIT via Concrete, manage blog networks with B2Evolution, develop collaborative Wikis, perform SEO-SEM with Serposcope, and manage RSS news feeds using the lightweight Selfoss application.
AMPdoc available in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and English
The new version of AMPdoc includes Portuguese in its translation framework, facilitating interpretation and use of the tool in Lusophone countries. The program automatically detects the language of the web browser running it, displaying the appropriate interface or, if unavailable, English.
