One of the most versatile and important tools for Documentalists are web analysis and tracking programs, also known as “webcrawlers.” These programs enable the creation of true search engines and underpin the development of the web as we know it. However, their complexity in operation and management has rendered them tools requiring substantial technical expertise.

With the aim of providing our professionals with the best possible tools, the multipurpose webcrawler program Mbot has been under development since 2010. It is designed to perform web metrics analysis, data mining, create search engines, and other functionalities.

Therefore, to introduce this tool to the public, version 4.0 of Mbot will be presented on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at 6:00 p.m., in the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Documentation Sciences at the Complutense University of Madrid. (Admission is free until capacity is reached.)
