The Information Retrieval Map is a comprehensive diagram of all processes carried out before, during, and after finding the information demanded and needed by the user. It was published on the Blog of Advanced Information Retrieval Techniques on October 4, 2012 and has now been improved in terms of visualization and readability through a Prezi presentation.

The novelty compared to the previous version lies in the inclusion of certain contextual details that enable proper tracking and orderly reading of the map.
