In the coming days, one of the most important lecture series of the year on Documentation Technologies will take place. Professor Manuel Blázquez Ochando and specialist Joaquín Hierro will present the OpenProdoc, Mbot, WauSearch, AMPdoc, and AXYZnews programs, offering a unique opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the development of new information technologies—and, of course, to meet their creators, with whom attendees can engage in discussion, exchange ideas, collaborate, and join forces to promote this essential pathway within Documentation Sciences.

On May 22 at 12:00 in Madrid, the open-source document management software OpenProdoc will be presented by its author and developer, Joaquín Hierro, who will explain its origins, foundations, development, and functionality. A live demonstration will also be conducted to observe how the system operates under a real-world scenario.

Also on Friday, May 22 at 18:00 hours in Lisbon, the webcrawler Mbot will be presented alongside the search engine WauSearch in a dual lecture format, analyzing their functionality, objectives, and real-world web crawling and advanced search tests. On May 29, the series will continue with the full presentation of the AMPdoc 2.0 distribution, explaining how the ecosystem of documentary applications available in AMPdoc can assist information professionals in addressing complex automation scenarios in information and documentation centers (libraries, archives, museums, digital collections, etc.). Finally, on June 5, the cycle will conclude with the presentation of AXYZnews, the latest specialized software release in Documentation.
